Fresh Blooms and Water Colors

Happy Monday, friends!

I'm so happy to be back today with a new card creation to share! I was inspired by this Fresh Bloom stamp for this Mother's Day card.  Here it is:

I stamped the flower several times on water color paper using VersaMark ink, then heat embossed it using white embossing powder.  I used the Tim Holtz Picked Raspberry Distress marker and water to color the flowers, and Tumbled Glass Distress marker and water to color the background.  Once everything dried, and went over the flowers with Wink of Stella Clear Glitter.  I cut a banner from white cardstock and stamped my sentiment.  I adhered the water colored paper to a top folding A2 size card, and finished it by adding clear gems.

Thank you so much for stopping by to see my card today! I appreciate your comments, and please feel free to follow my blog.  I hope you have a wonderful day!

HUGS!!!
Lisa

  1. Hello Lisa! This is a beautiful Mother's Day card! Loving those watercolored flowers with the embossing. You did a fabulous job! I am so intimidated with watercoloring because I feel like I don't have enough control. Maybe I need to invest in theseTim Holtz distress markers and give it a try. Have a wonderful week!

    1. Thank you SO much!! I'm NO expert on watercoloring! I watch a lot of videos for inspiration, but I admit I have to start over a few times before I can get it right! Have a wonderful week!

  3. This is a truly beautiful card, right down to the embellishments! I'm happy I visited your blog! A question: did you apply the marker directly to your paper then watercolored or did you pick up the distress marker with a brush then apply that to the paper. I'm still learning so just curious as to how you did it. Thanks! - Sheena Joy

    1. Thank you SO much, Sheena!! I have done both methods before, however for this card I used an acrylic block to scribble my ink on and mixed it with water on the block before applying it to my flowers. After they dried, I went back over the areas around the center of the flowers for darker shading using the same method. Thank you for visiting my blog! I just subscribed to your YouTube channel!
