Made My Own Background Paper: Stamping and Masking

Hello friends!!!

SO glad to be back on my blog after being away a while! I have a few cards to share where I made my own background paper with some stamping and masking.  Here's how they turned out:

I used stamps by Winnie and Walter (WW013, WW006, and WW002) for the flowers, leaves and the sentiment. I used Black Licorice Hybrid Ink by My Favorite Things to stamp the flowers all over the paper, then I masked the flowers to stamp the leaves. I used Sour Apple ink from My Favorite Things for the leaves and Memento Dew Drop inks for the flowers (Dandelion, Rose Bud, and Lulu Lavender).  I used the stitched rectangle dies from Simon Says Stamp to cut some vellum, then I stamped my sentiment on the vellum using Onyx Black VersaFine Ink, added some Zing clear embossing powder and heat set it to give it some shine and dimension.  I finished each card by cutting out some stamped flowers, adhered them to the vellum with some enamel dots, and added some shimmer to the flowers with some clear Wink of Stella.

Thank you SO much for stopping by to see my creations! I appreciate your comments! I hope you have a wonderful evening!

Congrats on your big day

Happy Saturday, friends!

I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend so far! I recently got the watercolor friendly "Artful Flowers" stamp and die set from Simon Says Stamp, and I've been having SO much fun with them! Here's one of the cards I've completed so far using these stamps and dies:

I stamped the flowers on water color paper using VersaMark ink and heat set them using Zing white embossing powder. This process makes it SO easy to water color these flowers!  I used the Tim Holtz Mustard Seed Distressed marker and a detailer water brush to colors the flowers.  After they dried, I used the coordinating dies to cut out the flowers.  I wanted the flowers to really pop on my card, so I used this black and white chevron paper from the Me & My Big Ideas 12 x 12 Mambi Sheets paper pad I found at Michael's craft store.  I cut a circle out of the center of the chevron paper using the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles die so I could have a place to put my sentiment and to arrange the flowers around it.

The sentiments are from the Winnie and Walter "Big Bold You" and "The Big, the Bold & Extras" stamp sets, and I stamped them using VersaFine Onyx Black ink.  Since the "Congrats" was so long, I chose to stamp it on a separate sheet of white cardstock, and cut around it.  It looks like it has its on coordinating die! I adhered it with 3M Foam Tape. I finished the card by stamping the remainder of the sentiment below the "Congrats", adhered the flowers around the circle using 3M Foam Tape, and added some Clear Wink of Stella Glitter onto the flowers.  Now the card is ready to give to someone who is maybe graduating from school, getting married or starting a new job!

Thank you SO much for stopping by to see my card design! I appreciate your comments.  I hope you have a wonderful day, and Happy Mother's Day to all of the moms!

Simple Succulents

Happy Tuesday, friends!

I hope everyone is doing well today! I have a simple card design to share today using stamps and watercolors:

Using the "Greetings and Succulents" stamps, I stamped the flowers onto water color paper using VersaFine Onyx Black ink then colored them using Tim Holtz Distress Markers (Tumbled Glass, Worn Lipstick and Mustard Seed) and a Tim Holtz Detailer water brush. Once the flowers dried, I cut them using the coordinating Succulent die.  I cut some leaves using the Simon Says Stamp Clustered Leaves die and adhered them to an A2 size card with Tombow Mono Multi Liquid glue. I placed the flowers around the leaves using 3M Foam tape, stamped my sentiment using the same VersaFine Onyx Black ink, then rounded the bottom corners of the card.  I finished the card by adding some Wink of Stella Clear Glitter on the shaded areas of the flowers.

Thank you SO much for stopping by to see my card today! I appreciate your comments! Have a fantastic day!

Die Cuts and Color

Happy Saturday, friends!

It's National Scrapbooking Day today! I hope everyone is enjoying a day of crafting and creativity. I have a card to share using some products I got recently from Simon Says Stamp.  I was inspired by bright bold colors:

I cut these flowers using dies from Sizzix, layered them using 3D foam tape, and added black enamel dots on the center. I loved how the flowers looked on these clustered leaves die cut! I coordinated the colors of the flowers and leaves with the Simple Stories DIY Boutique paper, and cut a simple border made using a Pretty Pink Posh stitched die for space to stamp my sentiment.  I finished the card using my white Signo uni-ball to add some dots around the flowers and leaves.

Thank you SO much for stopping by to see my card today! I appreciate your comments, and feel free to follow my blog! I hope you have a wonderful day!
